December 25, 2009 - INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PROTEST against Avatar

On Friday, December 25, 2009 thousands of people will be protesting last week's release of the James Cameron movie, Avatar. The purpose of the protest is as follows:

1) To make all people aware that arrogance, assumptions, or exclusions of alternative beliefs and values in movies is no longer acceptable. Diversity and tolerance are human rights.

2) To speak out for all minorities who are not represented by any character in Avatar.

3) To educate people about Evolution and humanity's transition to vegetarianism, agnostic-Buddhism, and flying-monkeyism.

All protests will be peaceful and non-confrontational, yet extremely douchebaggy. Suggested methods of protest:

  • Stand outside of theaters with signs and pamphlets to express your views.
  • Sit down in theater lobbies and do not move unless the police use force or violence upon you.
  • Stand up during a viewing of Avatar and remain standing.
  • Buy tickets to Avatar in bulk but do not attend showings. An empty theater will confuse the producers as to why they are bathing in cash, yet having no views.
  • Bring your mate to the theater and eat only salads.
Reminder: SILENCE = DEATH. We will be silent no more.

  1. What about the majorities that aren't represented!? Why does everything have to be about the minorities?

I know I would never understand because I'm just some white dude, but isn't them saying that their race/orientation not being represented just as bad as they think them not being represented is?

It seems very arrogant of them to think that every movie and tv show that ever is shown has to be sensitive to their feeble little fucking minds. I want to fucking protest THEM! Sometimes movies can and NEED to be made for the "majority" not necessarily on purpose, but simply because that's how the damn movie was made. It's like some of the things that black people protest and are against feel to me to be a bit racist on THEM. But OH NO, you can't be racist to a white person because I caused slavery.

...what the fuck has this country come to.

  2. I am angry that I am not represented in this movie. James Cameron has completely underrepresented me and so I will not be viewing this movie. That said, I will be buying no less than 1000 tickets. Man will Cameron be mad!

  3. I am extremely upset and disappointed by the release of this film.

After many months of contacting James Cameron personally via e-mail, written letter, and notes that I had slipped under his pillow, it comes as a great shock to me that he had not responded or acknowledged my requests and subsequent demands to include my little dog Scruffles in the film.
I know little Scruffles very well. He's a lovely cross between an Alapaha Blueblood Bulldog and a Dingo, and we do everything together!

As you can undoubtedly surmise I am quite disturbed with the distinct lack of representation of Scruffles in this film. Even after countless attempts to contact Mr. Cameron and point out that he would have easily made a marvelous addition to the movie, I received no word...

At the time of writing this Scruffles and I have already been to no less than thirty-seven screenings of the film. I know that the audience must have been nearly as upset as me to find out that Scruffles wasn't in the movie, so I have been taking him up and down each aisle and personally introducing him to every member of the audience.
This has gotten quite tiring as Scruffles and I are working countless hours to ensure that he is not left out of the experience, and as such we plan on purchasing the tickets for each seat of every showing. We are inviting the would-be audience as guests to our estate in honor of Scruffles and so that each of them may fill the unacceptable void that was left in the film.

I know they will all appreciate this very much, and I assure you we will not rest until the point has been made and Mr. Cameron edits the film to be re-released with the lovely, much-needed addition of Scruffles.

Thank you all for your time, and have a wonderful, scruffily day!

  4. Hey guys, love what you are doing here, this message totally needs to get out. Avatar blatantly overlooked so many people and we can NOT stand for that! To protest, I'm going to the theater painted blue and naked and standing in front of the projector. Avatar does not have any blue penises in it, and that is just ridiculous. Watchmen did it, why can't Avatar?
